Vicky Lloyd takes 2nd place in the 2006 Formula Woman Championship

Vicky went into the final round of the Formula Woman Championship in 3rd place overall and following two very eventful races at Snetterton circuit Vicky took second place in the Championship. "I am delighted, having been 3rd in the championship all the way it is brilliant to scoop 2nd place at the final round".

Vicky said "I am sorry for my team mate Kirsty Jeffrey who was involved in an incident in the last race that was not her fault, which caused her to drop to 4th in the championship".

Vicky had a good weekend, although she left all the work for the race after not qualifying as well as expected as she did not utilise the tow as much as possible. She finished 7th in the first race following a battle with Jackie Skelton who managed to slip back past Vicky on the final corner. Vicky proved she was quick holding fastest lap until the final lap of the race.

The second race was even more eventful than the first. Vicky made her way through the pack from 9th on the grid to 4th by the final lap. This race showed that she was both quick and had the ability to overtake. On the final lap of the race Vicky tried to pass Michelle Nixon for 3rd place at the esses. Unfortunately the move ended in near disaster when Vicky's front right wheel got stuck in the passenger side of Michelle's car and for a few moments Vicky was balanced on one wheel being pulled around the corner by Michelle's car (See picture). Luckily the cars broke free and Vicky managed to carry on after loosing 3 places. The incident at the final corner between Lucy Redding and Kirsty Jeffrey allowed Michelle Nixon to win the race and Vicky finished 5th closely behind Jackie Skelton.

Vicky said "That was the most enjoyable race I have ever had, I enjoyed fighting my way through the field and am only disappointed that if I had not tried to overtake Michelle I would have finished the race in 2nd place. Hindsight is a great thing!"

Vicky has had a brilliant season and cannot wait to find a drive for the 2007 season.
